This is a photo of the canal in Kiel linking the Baltic and North Seas. Kiel was full of boats in the harbors and yachts bobbing aside the promonade that ran along the purple Baltic waters. After Kiel I rode on through Schleswig and then to Flensburg, where I would say goodbye to Germany. Along the way I ran into a cyclist from Hamburg who called himself the Samuri, and we rode together until the Danish border. (10/09/04)
