Belarus was not all Soviet monumentalism, and here is a nice example of some neo-classical architechture in Homel that surprised me as I was preparing to cycle south to Ukraine. Leaving Belarus took almost as long as it did to get in, and I was a little bit worried when the border guard made me count all of my U.S. hard currency in front of him, but everything went off without a hitch, and with the red exit stamp drying on the cashed Belarus visa I cycled through the snow onward to the Ukrainian post.
